Bvlgari Perfume & Women's Fragrance

Bvlgari, pronounced as Bulgari is a luxury Italian fashion house that was founded by Sotirios Voulgaris in 1884.

The company's name originates from the founder's last name and although it is pronounced as a 'U' in the classic alphabet. The name is written with a 'V' as it is symbolic of the latin heritage.

Voulgaris was born in Greece and began his career as a jeweller. In 1877 Voulgaris left Greece to travel to Corfu. From there he went to Naples before eventually settling in Rome, Italy. Where he founded the company a few years later.

As with many Italian traditions, the Bvlgari brand is very much a family-run business. Voulgaris enlisted the help of his sons to open the company's flagship store in 1905. This was the start of a very prosperous career for the Bvlgari brand.

By the 1970's, Voulgaris' grandson Gianni who was CEO began their international expansion. The brand opened new flagship stores in New York, Geneva, Monte Carlo and Paris during the 1970s. This proved to be the start of a very lucrative and prosperous time for the business.

Gianni also decided to expand the Bvlgari brand product offering from the heritage of women's jewellery. Today it is a diverse luxury brand that produces several different product lines, including watches, accessories, hotels and Bvlgari fragrances.

The first Bvlgari perfume for women was called 'Bvlgari Eau Fraiche' launched in 1997. It remains a classical fragrance giant today due to its timeless floral and citrus notes. Its popularity is still strong as it is a fantastic everyday scent, adored by millions around the world.

Other popular Bulgari perfumes include the BLV for women and the Bvlgari Jasmin Noir range. The alcohol-free perfume named 'Petits et Mamans' is ideal for new mums.

The ever popular Bulgari perfume called 'Rose Essentielle Bvlgari' contains a beautiful collection of scented rose notes. The sandalwood and patchouli undertones make it a sensuous and lingering fragrance and a delight to wear.

As well as their entrepreneurial success, the Bvlgari brand has recently established itself as a key contributor to the community, driven by their firm ethical family values. Between 2009 and 2011, Bulgari donated 13 million Euros to their chosen charity, Save The Children.
